The successful candidate will fulfill a lab technician role in routine analysis, and assist with R&D activities, as directed by the lab team lead.
What You'll Be Doing
- Conducts routine lab analysis on terminal products.
- Collects samples within the terminal as required.
- Orders lab supplies.
- Performs preventative maintenance on lab equipment.
- Maintains safe work procedures and a healthy lab environment according to Gibson Safety and Environmental policies.
- Demonstrates a personal commitment and proactive approach to Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) through participation in all applicable EH&S programs and ensures safe operation of the branch, team or unit and compliance with all Company EH&S policies and procedures.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
What You Will Bring
- Currently enrolled or graduation in a chemistry related post secondary or technical program.
- A degree or diploma from a technical institution in a related field would be an asset.

Available for a 12 - 16 month fixed-term work term from September 2025 - September 2026.
- Class 5 Driver’s License.
- Ability to work a rotating shift schedule days and nights.
- Possesses knowledge or experience in the petroleum industry would be an asset.
- Exhibits excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
- Basic knowledge in Gas Chromatography.
- Basic understanding of Chemistry.
- Demonstrates proficiency in MS Outlook, Excel and Word.
Working Conditions
- The majority of the work is performed in an Lab environment.
- As this position includes operating a company vehicle, the successful candidate will be required to provide a minimum 3-year Driver's Abstract.
- Must be able to walk on uneven surfaces as well as climb ladders and stairs.
- Standing and/or sitting for long periods.
- Occasional bending and twisting is required, as is prolonged neck positioning.
- Some crouching, squatting, kneeling.
- Frequent to constant upper extremity movements (elbows, forearm, wrist).
- Lifting up to 40lbs.
- Pushing up to 30lbs and carrying up to 40lbs.
