The Role
As a valued member of the Producer Services team, the Marketing Representative plays a key role in driving growth and strengthening relationships with producers. This role is responsible for identifying opportunities to aggregate crude oil volumes through both truck and pipeline, optimizing value for Gibson and our customers while contributing to the continued success of our marketing business.
What You Will Do
- Actively identifies and pursues new production through research and interaction with current and prospective customers.
- Ensures optimization of Gibson’s Producer Services portfolio with Gibson assets by negotiating spot and term contracts
- Maintains Producer Services models (netbacks, pricing, etc.).
- Estimates cash forecast for Producer Services and update profit/loss model.
- Monitors production volumes to manage Form A forecasts vs actual receipts.
- Collaborates with other Marketing Representatives and Analysts for month end process and contract entry.
- Communicates with various internal business units such as Trading, Scheduling, Quality, and Business Development.
- Provide updates on positions and respond to unexpected events with contingency plans to minimize disruptions.
- Undertake apportionment calculations to ensure accurate positions.
- Provide front, mid & back-office Crude Oil Marketing support, such as volume forecasts, monitoring & balancing positions, price reporting, netback analysis, assisting with revenue accruals, and administration.
- Represent Gibson at industry functions and association meetings as required.
- Demonstrates a personal commitment and proactive approach to Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) through participation in all applicable EH&S programs and ensures safe operation of the branch, team or unit and compliance with all Company EH&S policies and procedures.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
What You'll Bring to the Role
- Completion of a post-secondary degree, preferably bachelor’s degree in commerce, economics, or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of related experience, preferably in crude oil supply, pricing, scheduling or analytics.
- Exhibits knowledge of crude oil and condensate pricing, transportation and equalization.
- Skilled in respectful and effective engagement with external counterparties.
- Ability to understand of the various pipelines, truck and rail terminals throughout Western Canada.
- Existing industry relationship with producers, trucking companies, pipeline operators etc. is considered a strong asset.
- Motivated individual able to contribute in a fast-paced dynamic team environment with multiple priorities and tasks.
- Ability to provide meaningful information/evaluations to management to allow for timely decisions.
- Strong analytical, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrates proficiency in MS Office systems.
- Right Angle experience is beneficial.
Working Conditions
- Minimal travel required on an ad-hoc basis for Gibson Energy site visits.
- Participation in customer events as required.
- The majority of work performed will be in an office environment.
