The Credit Analyst is responsible for reviewing customers’ financial health, proposing credit limits for customers, monitoring credit exposures, providing accurate and timely credit reporting for internal customers and insurance providers, and ensuring the Credit Policy is being followed. 
 

What You'll Be Doing

  • Completes credit reviews of customers and recommends credit limits as set out in the Credit Policy in a timely manner.
  • Monitors customers credit exposures and reports high risk customers to Director of Risk in a timely manner.
  • Monitors approved credit limits and expiry dates to prepare a credit renewal accordingly.
  • Coordinates with the Supervisor of Treasury in working with the insurance broker to ensure Gibson is compliant with the policy and relevant customers are fully covered.
  • Provides our counterparties with the appropriate credit information on Gibson.
  • Manages all legal documentation surrounding credit including confidentiality agreements, parental guarantees and net out agreements.
  • Liaises with traders/functional areas and managers on credit matters.
  • Completes all required credit reporting, including AR insurance declaration to ensure eligible customers are fully covered.
  • Responds to ad-hoc requests and special projects from Director of Risk.
  • Monitors any security requirements placed on customers.
  • Looks for opportunities for process improvement before being asked.
  • Looks outside department to broaden business/industry perspective.
  • Demonstrates a personal commitment and proactive approach to Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) through participation in all applicable EH&S programs and ensures safe operation of the branch, team or unit and compliance with all Company EH&S policies and procedures.
  • May perform other duties as assigned. 

 

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor of Commerce degree in Finance or Accounting. 
  • Working towards FCI/CPA/CFA Designation would be considered an asset.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of relevant credit experience. 
  • Ability to identify improvement opportunities, evaluate options and make recommendations for discussion with the Supervisor of Treasury. 
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet multiple deadlines.
  • As a representative of the Company, deal with clients in a professional manner and maintain good customer rapport.
  • Adaptable, innovative, self-motivated and well-organized team player.
  • Recognizes and acts upon opportunities.

  • This is a full-time role.
