The Commercial Payables Analyst works closely with the Logistics, Commercial Services, and Treasury Teams to ensure all transportation, tariff, and equalization invoices are paid accurately and in a timely manner for the Canadian Crude Business Unit.  The analyst also provides support to the functional area for Invoicing and settlement.

 

What You'll Be Doing

  • Ensures invoices received from counterparties match transactions within RightAngle.
  • Create and distribute Invoices for assigned business units.
  • Demonstrates ability to investigate inconsistencies on invoices and action appropriately.
  • Works closely with Scheduling and Commercial Services to confirm that unexpected costs are accurate and captured within the system.
  • Resolves disputes or discrepancies of payments for external customers.
  • Liaises with Scheduling and Accounting at month end to ensure accuracy of accruals.
  • Investigates unpaid transactions within RightAngle to confirm if they are valid.
  • Effectively and efficiently communicates with external counterparties.
  • Growth mindset for business and skill development.
  • Provide back up support on Refined Products business unit invoicing.
  • Act as the subject matter expert (SME) for all things NGL payables.
  • Help suggest areas for improvement related to processes and procedures.
  • Demonstrates a personal commitment and proactive approach to Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) through participation in all applicable EH&S programs and ensures safe operation of the branch, team or unit and compliance with all Company EH&S policies and procedures.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

 

What You'll Bring

  • 0-2 years of experience in related role. Previous AP experience would be considered an asset. 
  • Familiarity with energy sector and industry terminology would be an asset. 
  • Experience with or understanding of RightAngle or similar ETRM system. 
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and multitask effectively.
  • Demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office systems.  
  • Exhibits strong time management and critical thinking skills.


Working Conditions

  • The majority of the work is performed in an office environment.
  • Work is performed in an open office layout with collaboration spaces.
