The Role
The Volumetric Management Analyst (Position Management) focuses on supporting the marketing team with accurate volumetric data within the RightAngle system, ensuring the reflection of physical movements for crude oil, refined products, and natural gas liquids (NGLs).
What You Will Do
As a Volumetric Management Analyst (Position Management), you will:
- Ensure that orders are scheduled in RightAngle in alignment with the Supply & Demand model.
- Create and manage daily truck and rail movements, ensuring they are accurately recorded in RightAngle.
- Monitor and analyze volumetric variances, providing detailed explanations for discrepancies if needed.
- Run reports at the end of each day, ensuring that data reflects real-time movements and is updated in the system.
- Participate in month-end tasks such as balancing and reconciling inventories to meet accounting deadlines, ensuring financial accuracy.
- Work closely with schedulers to resolve issues related to shipper balances and 3rd party statements, addressing discrepancies or volumetric documentation concerns.
- Collaborate with other VM Analysts to ensure intercompany balances are maintained consistently.
- Own the creation and maintenance of logistics deals, ensuring that proper tariffs and transportation pricing are applied correctly.
- Have a deep understanding of relevant commercial deals to accurately schedule them in accordance with the pricing structures.
- Address and resolve issues as they arise, understanding the broader impact on operations and adjusting priorities accordingly.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
What You Bring to the Role
- Post-secondary education.
- A minimum of 3-5 years in the oil and gas industry, with a preference for experience in roles that deal with volumetric data and logistics.
- In-depth experience using the RightAngle system, especially with the Scheduling, Physical Trading, and Lease Centre Modules.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks at once while ensuring deadlines and operational priorities are met.
- High attention to detail to ensure data accuracy in scheduling, reports, and reconciliations
- Ability to stay organized and maintain structured work, especially when managing complex data and multiple moving parts
- Must be self-motivated and take initiative in resolving problems, ensuring smooth operations.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with different stakeholders, including schedulers, traders, producer services, and others.
- Must be able to adapt to changing market conditions and industry demands.
