Our mission is to inspire young talent by educating students about the career opportunities available right in their backyard, and how they can pursue these career paths after high school. Gibson Energy’s Hardisty assets are home to over 100 employees who reside in the town of Hardisty and the surrounding communities.

The classrooms that we will be visiting this spring are at Central High Sedgwick Public School, Hughenden Public School and Irma School; eligible students from each of these schools are encouraged to participate in the Gibson in the Classroom (Hardisty) Scholarships 2023.

Gibson in the Classroom (Hardisty) Scholarships 2023

The Gibson in the Classroom (Hardisty) Scholarships reward and encourage local high school students to pursue post-secondary education in a field related to a career in Operations.

Value

  • Two scholarships of $1,500

Criteria

  • Awarded to grade 12 high school students located in Hardisty and surrounding areas
  • Must provide proof of enrollment in 4th Class Power Engineering, Chemical Technology, Instrumentation Technology, Electrician or Millwright 
  • Scholarship recipient(s) will be given priority for future student summer/co-op jobs, and potential full-time employment

Preference will be given to students who express interest in a career path of Facility/Control Room Operations, Technical Services, or Trades. At least one scholarship is designated to a female applicant in efforts to increase opportunities for women in STEM and Operations in the energy industry.

How to Apply

Application instructions will be given by each school’s internal administration office, in collaboration with Gibson Energy.
