Inventory Analyst

Position Details

The Inventory Analyst is responsible to carry out the accurate and efficient volumetric processing and reporting of Edmonton Terminal product throughput and inventories. Provide support to Operations, Marketing and Loss Control Departments.

· Daily processing of Edmonton Terminal product movement, via truck, pipeline, tank car and tank to tank transfers
· Daily Balancing of Edmonton Terminal tanks, i.e crude oil, condensate and butane
· Complete daily, weekly and monthly terminal balance reporting
· Assist with any operational projects that are related to the Analyst role
· Act as a main contact with the trucking dispatch group regarding truck ticket discrepancies
· Communicate effectively with Edmonton/Hardisty terminal staff daily, regarding any railcar, deliveries, receipts and tank transfer issues
· Ensure reports are updated and distributed in a timely manner
· To represent the department and the Company in a professional manner
· Work closely with the Raildesk and Commercial Development to ensure all crude oil movement and rail car offloads are accounted for correctly.
· Work with Measurement/Lab to ensure all quality/data information is accurate
· Act as liaison with other business units and external customers
· May support other volumetric accounting desks and provide vacation relief
· Assist with the development and testing of applicable software and enhancements
· Ad hoc reporting and analysis
· May perform other duties as assigned.
· Demonstrates a personal commitment and proactive approach to Health, Safety, Security & Environment (HSS&E) through participation in all applicable HSS&E programs and ensures safe operation of the branch, team or unit and compliance with all Company HSS&E policies and procedures

· Knowledge and ability to analyze information and solve problems under pressure and meet deadlines

· Post-secondary diploma in accounting or related field
· 1-2 years of Accounting experience preferred
· 2-3 years experience in the Petroleum Industry
· Basic accounting knowledge
· Intermediate MS Excel and MS Word, as well as other relational database systems.
· Experience in software testing an asset
